Personal Values & Beliefs
From the start, we wanted to set the tone of our project reaching out to the YSPFs through an inquisitive lens, using the perspective that we were there to learn more about this demographic and the strengths that they possess, instead of directly settling to help them out from their circumstances.
Throughout our interactions with YSPFs from filming our video series and engagement sessions, we realized that each of them had very unique backstories and experiences and their own ability to take in information can vary, thus the way they interpreted their own unique strengths were very personalized.
A personal assumption we had was that YSPFs face similar circumstances. However, with the three demographics (divorced, death, unwed), many of them faced different circumstances. Although their circumstances were different, the emotions and thoughts felt among them were similar and with these common ground, they were able to relate with one another and the guest speakers.
